Why are people still excited about Torchlight 2 you ask? Well, I’ll give you a 2 reasons why I skipped Diablo 3 and pre-ordered TL 2 on Steam.
1. The biggie: No always online DRM nonsense. I don’t care if I’m already connected, I don’t want to be at the mercy of an internet connection or servers to play my single player experience. And I can go online if I want to.
2. Price: $20 for a robust, full featured, polished experience. I’m sure it won’t be the same level of quality as D3, but it will be more than passable. So you get 90% of the experience for a fraction of the price.
I think TL2 will do just fine. I’m playing the free copy of TL1 that came with my pre-order and loving it.
