This week continues the countdown to our game of the year edition of The Best Ever. The Gerstmann saga is finally dying down, so we get in some final words on the whole debacle. Plus, guitar controller drama, Final Fantasy galore, more Rock Band, and a very special birthday (with cake!).
This week we talk about what everyone else is talking about. That’s right; we talk about the Gamespot debacle. We also talk new Xbox features, a disappointing development in the Star Trek MMO, the games we played last week (because not much came out this week), and begin counting down to our game of the year. It’s the Best Ever… This Year.
This week we talk about the incredible experience that is Rock Band. Mass Effect has left us both transfixed, while Assassin’s Creed continues to impress. We discuss Xbox Live Arcade Titles and take a look at the some of the other articles to be found on 411.
This week we dive into an embarrassment of riches ranging from Super Mario Galaxy to Assassin’s Creed, with a little Smackdown vs. Raw for good measure. Movie licensed games are discussed, as is Mike’s disgust with reporting on guitar based game downloadable content (which we do this week). Everyone got the memo, right? We do this on Mondays now.
This week we almost spent more time playing games in stores than in our house thanks to demos of Super Mario Galaxy and Rock Band. As the last gen seems to finally be fading out, we discuss the best ever game from the PS2, GCN, Xbox era. More Final Fantasy, some Castlevania, and Hellgate: London round out this week’s played games.
The DS sees plenty of love this week, as we explore and evaluate it’s software library thus far. Also, Mike magically goes from mildly hating Final Fantasy VIII to liking it quite a bit. Plus all of the week’s gaming news and the upcoming game releases.
This week, we chastise Sony a bit (don’t worry, Mike picks on Microsoft too). Mike picks up a side quest in his adventures in Final Fantasy, Ajguy gets sucked back into Oblivion, and for some reason we discuss the best Sonic game ever. This will be the last show produced with Ajguy is Los Angeles, so this is sure to become a collector’s item. Get it while it’s hot!
This week we celebrate an embarrassment of riches as the Orange Box is released. Ajguy discusses one of the sleeper hits of the year, Puzzle Quest, now available on XBLA and PC. Mike beats yet another Final Fantasy. Also, the Saturn is remembered for no particular reason.
This week, we talk about the long await Phantom Hourglass. Mike’s time with Mega Man Powered Up prompts a discussion of the best Mega Man ever! Plus Bungie’s leaving Microsoft, Rockstar has a bug up their ass, and David Hayter gives us some good news.
