We waited a day so we could talk about the new iPhone 4S. Having done that, we also get to some controversial news stories, the Battlefield 3 beta, and Uncharted 3 multiplayer. There’s also a lot of shouting, but don’t worry. I figured out how to use the “limiter” plugin within Final Cut Pro X.

I think online passes are fine. I think it’s less about combating used games sales and more a matter of finding a way to assure there’s money coming in to fund servers and such for online play. While an economy of free enterprise is something everyone’s entitled to, it also doesn’t seem fair that publishers have to provide a service to people who aren’t helping to support it. Yeah…that sort of sounded like corporate spiel, but if people want to continue to play multiplayer games online they have to support it somehow.
And like A.J. said, most games online presence drop precipitously, so what’s the point in picking up an online pass by the time you get it used anyways? It’s just another casualty you can expect from getting something second-hand, like a missing manual or a stickered box.
